Things to know before you go...

  1. Shuttle Service... Upon arrival at Taymouth Tubing parking is provided and you will be shuttled with your tubes to a safe starting point upriver.
  2. Dress for Success... Proper clothing and footwear can make your Nashwaak River Tubing Adventure more enjoyable. Footwear - Sandals, water shoes or the old sneakers will make walking over gravel areas and beaches more comfortable. Slip-on types are easy to lose on the river. T-shirts and coverups can block the direct sunlight as well as reflected light off the water.
  3. Consider Weather Conditions... We provide weather forecasts via links on the right, choosing the best weather can improve your day on the river. Warm water temperatures and sunny afternoons are the best time to be on the Nashwaak River. If possible get out early, remeber the river is in the valley and the sun drops behind the hills a couple hours early. Even the hottest days cool quickly after the sun is off the water.
  4. Food & Beverages... Of course, snacks and drinks are welcome but please consider the environment. We have cooler tubes available but ask that you only take cans or plastic, no glass bottles. Trash receptacles are provided on several convenient rest areas.
  5. Private Property... Many of the great stopping places along the river are privately owned and we ask that all tubers respect the rights of property owners.
